Get over the stereotypes
We invite all secondary schools, vocational secondary schools and high schools to an audiovisual competition in which we point out stereotypes and prejudices that we encounter at home, at workplace or at school
Competition conditions:
1. Create a video with a duration of up to 1 minute.
2. You can create the video individually, in pairs, or with more people (group of max. 5 people).
3. Fill in the basic data in the registration form and send us your video.
For printing purposes, you can also print the conditions as PDF.
Application form:
Registration deadline
until 7th of June 2024
Few guidelines:
1 / How would you fight stereotypes?
Think about what your video should be about. Gender stereotypes are ideas and beliefs that say boys and girls should have certain characteristics and roles that are specific and limited to their sex/gender. For example boys are good at math and girls at languages. Boys are bold and girls are soft. The consequences of stereotypes are different, but they can also include discrimination at school or at work.
Ask yourself the following questions:
What would the world look like without gender stereotypes? What can I change in my behavior to make it less stereotypical? What stereotype do I want to change?
Before you start making a video, it's important to think about your own prejudices and stereotypes. This way, you can avoid spreading more stereotypes in your video.
2 / You don't have to be professional.
It is important that it is clear what you want to say with the video. The work can be supplemented with an interesting statement, motto, slogan - existing or newly created, which describes the stereotypes and prejudice. It is possible to make in a funny way (without using profanity, insulting, derogatory, inappropriate words - these videos will be excluded from the competition).
3 / Create a scenario.
Do you know who and where you will be filming? In what areas? Write a plan for your video, in which you will describe what will happen in each ending, what dialogues will be said, or what music will be used. If you can do it even without preparation, consider at least the narrative value and goal, or who the video will be intended for.
4 / Where to upload video?
Send us the video to the email address info@snslp.sk. If its size exceeds 25 MB, then upload it to any storage - wetransfer, save, or to another site that you prefer. Don't forget to name it so that we can easily identify it and pair it with filling out the form. formulárom.
